Dargnat becomes new Efama president

Christian Dargnat will become the new president of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (Efama).

He will replace Claude Kremer who has served as president since 2011. Dargnat is chief investment officer of BNP Paribas Investment Partners and has served as vice president of Efama from June 2011.

The election took place during the association’s annual general meeting (AGM) in Amsterdam on June 21.

Alexander Schindler, member of the executive board of Union Asset Management, was elected as vice president.

Members at the AGM also elected a new board of directors for a two-year term.

Over the next two years the association and its new heads aim to support investor confidence through the asset management industry, strengthen the competitiveness of the industry in terms of cost and quality, and enhance the smooth functioning of a European single market for managers.
